A Christmas Carol –
Book Review
Eye Gluer!
Charles Dickens is the author of this book, he is a
writer and a social critic. He wrote novels and short stories and few of his
best novels (my view) were: Oliver Twist, Christmas Carol, and A tale of two
cities. He wrote generally about poverty and the poor in England at his time
(1800’s). Dickens was praised by other authors for his realism, comic voice, and
prose fluency.
The story is about a mean and short tempered man named
Scrooge who hated Christmas and had a delightful nephew named Fred. The story
is when the ghost of Scrooge’s business partner, Marley visit’s him. Marley
warns Scrooge to change his ways and says that Scrooge will be visited by 3
spirits who will help him. There is lots of excitement and there are other characters
like Bob Crachit (Scrooge’s clerk) using the help of scrooge’s past, present,
and future, will scrooge undo his nasty ways … Read to find out!
I think the Christmas Carol is a good book, and I like
the way Charles Dickens portrayed how grandly Christmas was celebrated back in
the olden days. But I think the book was quite obvious and you could guess what
would happen. But overall it is a good book with good adventure, understanding,
and learning. Cheers Charles Dickens J
I think you should read the book because it talks a lot about
Christmas, and says that every person has good in them, it is just locked under
the layers of bad. And it says that you don’t need money to be happy.
